For those of you able to spend four concentrated days this February on your writing, consider coming to UCLA Extension’s Writers Studio. Five screenwriting courses are being offered, (including three taught by my friends, Billy Mernit, Peter Dunn and Steve Mazur.) and five creative writing courses. (Amy Friedman is teaching a first level personal essay course, Noel Alumit memorable characters and dialog, Mark Haskell Smith writing the first novel, Jerrilyn Farmer the mystery novel and I’m teaching an intermediate memoir and personal essay course.) This is a great way to jump-start yourself into a serious writing project. It’s also terrific fun.  (February 7-10, 2008, Los Angeles)
