Writing Exercise for Thanksgiving Day

Turkey

We writers often complain a lot – I do anyway – so here’s an exercise to write in your journal tomorrow: What do you have to be thankful about in your writing?

What a concept! Most of us are so busy wringing our hands over not enough time, or not enough courage or ideas or the lack of publishing opportunities or whatever – that to calm down that voice in your head for something positive about your writing may take some serious thinking.

Here’s something for your list: you have stories (This is true. Unless you’ve been in a coma since the day you were born, you have some amazing stories to write.)  And I’m assuming that since you’re reading this online, that you also have a computer, you have one of the best tools in the world for your work (along with pencils, pens and paper.)  What other positives do you come up with? Let us know.

Happy Thanksgiving!
