Two readers of this blog checked in recently under comments wondering if they were too old to start a writing career. I wanted to leap through cyberspace yelling, "No, no, no! Start writing, keep writing!" Listen, if you're a hundred and ten you're not too old (and one of these readers was 35! The other was 54!) But instead of ranting, I'll calmly tell you that one of my favorite novels is A River Runs Through It and Norman Maclean was 70 when he started to write it and it was his first novel. So get to work people, start writing – don't use age as an excuse.
