So R. and I are having a late lunch at The Shack and I – usually the Good Eating Cop – have a glass of Moose Drool beer, a pizza and afterward an ice cream cone for dessert. R. laughs and says, "You're so much fun when you're not writing." Since I spend about ninety percent of my waking hours either writing, thinking about writing, teaching writing, or reading, I find it best not to examine this compliment too closely.
