ArtsDay LA

UCLA

If you live near LA, please put next Saturday March 7th on your calendar for a wonderful free event on the UCLA campus from 10 am to 4 pm: ArtsDay LA. All the arts in Extension are represented and the Writers’ Program is featuring four consecutive sessions designed to lead you through the process of becoming a writer:

1. “Discovering the Writer Within” (I’m chairing this one and the panel includes poet Rachel Kann, playwright Leon Martell and fiction writer Kate Millikan) 10-11am

2. “Building and Refining Your Storytelling Toolkit“

3. “Getting Your Work Out into the World”

4. “Your Career and Life as a Writer”

The thing I love most about the Writers’ Program at UCLA Extension is that it really is a community – a vibrant and safe place to find yourself as a writer and to meet people who love the same things you love – stories and books and films.  These free events give you a chance to meet and watch a variety of instructors in action. And for me it’s a chance to visit with former students, meet new ones and readers of this blog.  For more info – location, other panel members and parking, please go to: http://www.artsdayla.org.

And come join us.
