If you live near the central coast of California please come to the Central Coast Writers Conference September 21-22 at Cuesta College. I'll be there talking about writing the stories of your life (the genres, the fears etc.), and also about writing the personal essay. My friend and fellow instructor at UCLA Extension Victoria Zackheim will be there too conducting two workshops.

If you live in the South Bay of L.A. please save the date for my Pages Bookstore party for A YEAR OF WRITING DANGEROUSLY in Manhattan Beach on October 18th. And if you live in West L.A. please come to my Diesel book party in Brentwood on November 8th. 

One more thing (and forgive all this self-promotion) – I'm teaching an eight week course at UCLA Extension called "Writing the Healing Story" starting on October 23rd, Tuesday mornings.
