My dear friend and student Jacqueline Winspear was in town yesterday promoting her new book (it appears on the NYT’s best seller list next Sunday) and she came over to my house for lunch.  We sat at my kitchen table and talked about writing and books and I just wish I had taken notes, that’s how inspiring she is.

We talked a lot about discipline and simply getting on with it. Her new book is the tenth in her Maisie Dobbs mystery series. Ten books in ten years!  And all of them successful. Do you have any idea the work that takes? (not to mention talent.) I’m in awe of how she does it. And not only the writing but traveling all over the country for promotion.
