FACEBOOK aka Junior High

Facebook

I’m on Facebook because I got an email from a friend who’s an Episcopal Bishop inviting me to visit his page.  Since he ‘s a bishop of course I clicked into Facebook to visit his page for heaven’s sake . But here’s the thing – once you get into Facebook there’s no way out. You have to fill out this questionnaire in order to see someone’s page and the next thing you know you’ve got your own page. And one friend. The Bishop. It’s like being the new kid in Junior High. There I am sitting in public with this one friend. So I started checking to see if anyone else I know is on Facebook  and then sent them a “friend request”. What the value of all this might be I have no idea (though when I publish my next book you can be sure the Marketing Whore will be alive and well on my page.)

An article I recently read said that it's now more cool not to have a Facebok page than to have one – so I’m behind the curve here once again.  But come visit me, dear readers. It’s back to eighth grade. Up my friend numbers!
