Dangerous Writing

My book proposal for A Year of Writing Dangerously: Memoir, Autobiography & Personal Essays is out looking for a publisher, and meanwhile (as I chew my fingers to the bone) I thought I might post some excerpts from it. The idea for the book came in part from writing this blog and from your interest and comments. So the book is really like 365 blog posts, but edited better and with more of an arc: getting started, sticking with it, etc. When you write a blog you write fast – at least I do. If I reread some of my posts I keep thinking how I could make them better and wishing I’d done more editing. And blog posts are also in random order of  whatever is on my mind at the time. So often the blog veers off into non-writing territory – like all those posts about my beloved dog Nelson or the road signs in Montana. (or like the photograph above that has nothing to do with the post – I took it in Century City last week with my IPhone.)

Tomorrow the first excerpt. And I’d love comments. Thanks, dear readers
