Sometimes ideas just smoke, and sometimes they burst into flame. Either way you have to pay attention to them. I’ve had an idea smoking for the past year and recently I caught fire with it. I sent the title to my agent today who is less than impressed. She even described herself as a wet blanket about it. And I don’t care! She hasn’t seen the book proposal yet and I still think this idea is fabulous. One of these days I’m going to start a new blog about the idea and will reveal it to you then. Stay tuned. And may you catch fire with an idea for a book, a story, a poem, an essay this summer.
The final bookstore reading for KICKING IN THE WALL will be August 5th at Vromans in Pasadena – If you live in the area please come and bring friends! Some of my amazing students will be reading their work from the book and we’ll have a panel discussion about writing afterwards.
